BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – Mounties in Burnaby and family and friends are worried following the disappearance of three people, including a four-year-old child.
Police say 38-year-old Ming Dong Xu, his wife, 36-year-old Yu Ling Zhang and their son, Garrick Xu were reported missing by family members to the RCMP today. They were last seen yesterday afternoon.
RCMP Corporal Daniela Panesar says family reported them missing shortly before 4 a.m. today.
“It’s unusual for this family to not to contact family.”
Police aren’t ruling out foul play.
“It’s early in the investigation. Investigators are probably looking at all possibilities,” Panesar says. “There’s little information, which is why we’re making an appeal to the public to contact the Burnaby RCMP. We have started receiving tips shortly after the news release went out.”
The family was last seen in a 2006 Honda Accord that is similar to the one seen below.
Mounties are pleading for anyone who has information about this case or who knows the whereabouts about the Xu family to call the Burnaby RCMP Investigative Support Team at 604.294.7922 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477).
